Union Health Minister launches India's First Mobile Innovative Laboratory for Covid-19 testing

Union Health Minister Harsh Vardhan on Thursday launched India's first mobile Innovative laboratory for Covid-19 testing in the rural and far-flung inaccessible interior areas. In order to provide the best testing facilities to all remote parts of the country, new innovations have been developed in the healthcare laboratory.

As a part of Atma Nirbhar Bharat, Ministry of Science and Technology and Med-tech zone of Andhra Pradesh have collaborated to address the critical healthcare technologies to move progressively towards self-sufficiency. The laboratory performs 25 RT-PCR tests per day, 300 ELISA tests per day, and additional tests for H1V, TB as per government rates.

India has 953 laboratories across the country out of which 699 are government labs are working. The government has already started one laboratory in February. India has witnessed the highest single-day increase of 12,000 + positive cases in the last 24 hours.
