Prime Minister's "Garib Kalyan Rojgar Abhiyaan" to boost opportunities for livelihood in Rural India

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will launch a massive rural public works 'Garib Kalyan Rojgar Abhiyaan' on June 20 in Telihar, Khagaria District of Bihar to boost opportunities for livelihood in rural India. Garib Kalyan Rojgar Abhiyaan has 25 Projects which will create job opportunities for Migrants. This project outlay was about Rs, 50,000 crore amount is being pooled together.

The Central and State Government's  have mapped all the skill sets of migrants who have returned in large number from various places. The Migrants who have returned to the specific listed districts will be provided job opportunities for a period of 125 days throught the Common Service Centres and Krishi Vigyan Kendras.

The Government has identified 116 Districts in 6 states with more than 25000 migrants.  The Six states includes Bihar, Jharkhand, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Orissa and Rajasthan. Employment and infrastructure creation for 25 different types of works have planned. The Money allotment for these works will be front-loaded.

This scheme will be coordinated by 12 different ministries which includes Rural Development, Panchayat Raj, Highways, Road Transport, Drinking Water, Sanitization, Environment, Petroleum and Gas, Renewable energy, Telecom, Agricultural Sector, Natural Gas, Mines, Drinking water and Sanitization. The Campaign will cater to the need of job creation in rural areas for a prosperous rural India.
