Kerala Highcourt put strict controls on firework displays on Pooram Festival
The Kerala High court bench comprising Justices
Thottathil B RadhaKrishnan and Justice Anu Sivaraman has allowed low-decibel
fireworks display in the festival which will be celebrated till April 18th
during the ongoing Pooram festival in Thrissur. On Thursday The Court has given
clear indications that The Sound level should be below 125 decibel, and
they should use any unauthorized chemicals in the fireworks.
Earlier The Kerala High Court had banned
high-decibel fireworks in the festival worship place during night time after
Puttingal tragedy.Hearing the Private Paramekkavu and Thirvambadi Devaswoms
permission plea to hold fireworks display on the annual Pooram festival at
famous Vadakkunnathan Temple in Thrissur.
The Division bench gave the above judgement as
the fireworks display as the part of its culture and Traditions after citing
the Supreme court ruling on 2007 to organizing committee of the Pooram Festival
.More than 300 persons are taking treatment in Thiruvananthapuram and Kollam
hospitals and around 114 people died on the April 10 Puttingal temple Fireworks
mishap tragedy on Sunday.
