Bihar Government to Launch eco friendly E-Rickshaws/E-carts Soon

The  State Transport Department in Bihar will soon launch eco friendly environment Three Wheeler E- Rickshaw/ E-cart for carrying people and goods.  This E-rickshaw is battery operated which helps to reduce pollution level in the state especially in Patna.It will be tested on less congested and specific routes initially.

As according to the Transport Department directions this e-rickshaw is not allowed to carry school children. Transport Minster Chandrika Raj said that the Government is planning to start the registration procedure to operate E-rickshaw smoothly and after making necessary provisions regarding route permit clearance in the Act  and also according to the rules and regulations of Motor Vehicles act of 1988.

The Government has imposed  a district level committee under the chairmanship of District magistrate, Member secretary who is also a district transport officer and along with members which includes Motor Vehicle Inspector, SP, Traffic SP, DDC, executive officer urban bodies and Executive engineer road division for the smooth process functioning of e-rickshaw.

Initially e-rickshaw or e-cart will be operated on Bihar and after checking the response then slowly it would be introduced in all other parts of Bihar state.This committee will meet at least once in a month to check the proper functioning of e-rickshaw and also regarding route permit clearance issuance.The License will be provided on specific routes after collecting necessary documents and payment
