Baburaj, A differently abled Indian Swims 10 Kms with one hand and sets URF Asian Record

It won't be wrong to say that Baburaj proves that "where is a will there is a way" and many of them see him as a ray of hope. A 50 year old  differently abled Keralite named ED Baburaj has swum his way to URF Asian Records.Baburaj is an LIC Agent ,met an accident when he was 11-year old and unfortunately lost his Left hand.

Officials said on Tuesday that "On August 18th ED Baburaj with 40% of his disability swam 10 km with one hand at the widest part of the Vembanad lake that flows through in Alappuzha."The URF Asian Records at par with the Asian record title and is recognized globally.

Much elated Baburaj told that he is going to approach the government and ask them to treat him as a record holder as he is also a qualified International Wheel chair and Amputee Sports Federation(IWAS) World games in Sochi in Russia and inline of those who win state and national awards in the state.

He said despite of his disability,he has taken part in various university and state level  swimming competitions and has won awards too.He told he couldn't be able to participate in the Russian event because he is failed to arrange Rs3 Lakh for his Travel and Other Expenses.
