ICT in school education India has won UNESCO's recognition
The usage of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) under The PM eVidya scheme during the Covid-19 Pandemic has won UNESCO's recognition This award will be presented for outstanding implementation of projects using creative techologies that enhance learning, teaching and overall performance in this modern digital era.

The PM eVidya programme was implemented as a part of Atmanirbhar Bharat Abhiyaan by the Ministry of Education in May 2020. This program has unified all the efforts related to Online Digital Education with multi mode accessing for imparting education using technology to minimise hearing losses.
The Central Institute of Educational Technology (CIET) has awarded with UNESCO's King Hamad Bin lsa Al-Khalifa Prize for the use of ICT in the Education for the year 2021. CIET is a constituent unit of the NCERT.
UNESCO's award recognizes the innovative approaches of the Educational programme. It also helps in leveraging new technology learning and sets a platform to achieve sustainable development goals for the future
The international jury selects two best projects every year and each prize winner will receive USD 25,000,a medal and diploma during a ceremony at UNESCO Headquarters in Paris on June 24. The Education Ministry is focusing on designing, developing and disseminating the large amount of e-content and e-books in latest techonology to enhance quality educational system that brings the best opportunities keeping in view of National Educational Policy (NEP)
