At 105 years, Rambai sets a new record in 100m in Open Masters Athletics Championship
In Inaugural National Open Masters Athletics Championships conducted by the Athletics Federation of India in Vadodara the new record was set by the 105 year old Super grandma The inspirational Rambai from Haryana's Charkhi Dadri district sprints in new 100m record in 45.4 Sec. She has proved that age is just a number and it's never too late to begin or win. She is a role model to millions of elderly.
Rambai ran alone in 100m as there is no competitor above 85 competing at the National Open Masters Athletics Championship. After she clinched a golden double in sprints Rambai said "it's a great feeling and i want to race again." She participated in the 100m on June 15 and 200m on Sunday in 1 minute. 52.17 seconds.
Rambia is planning to take part in international tournaments. She is planning to apply for a passport. She started competitive running at age 104. Born on January 1st 1917 she is taking 1 liter of milk, 250g of ghee, 500g of dahi, churma & bajra roti as regular diet.
