Rajasthan's Churu Recorded the Highest Temperature of 47.4 Degree celsius on Sunday

Amidst Covid-19 Pandemic lockdown, Heatwaves has intensified across several parts of India and temperatures Soared above 45-degree celsius in all parts of the country. The India Meteorological Department issued "Red Warning" on Sunday as it is predicted an intense heatwave in Maharastra, Telangana, Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, Chandigarh, Rajasthan, and Uttar Pradesh after Friday.

Severe HeatWaves in India
The Temperatures in all the above states are likely to peak because of Northwesterly winds over plains of central India, Northwest India, and other adjoining parts of eastern India. This Severe heatwave will continue till May 28 with peak intensity from Today.  

Some parts in interior Andhra Pradesh, Gujrat, Haryana, Marathwada, Interior Odisha, Bihar, Telangana, Jharkhand and Punjab states will also experience the severe heatwave conditions for the next two days. The India Meteorological Department issues color-coded warnings to all states based on the intensity of the weather system. Various color-codes issued by The Indian Meteorological Department are Green, Yellow, Orange, and Red in Ascending order.

Issuing Red Color-code warning on Sunday indicates that The people are cautioned not to step out from their homes between 1 PM and 5 PM as the intensity of heat is more at that point in time. After May 28 Temperatures will reduce due to rains or Thunderstorm activities. Rajasthan's Churu recorded the highest temperature of 47.4 degrees Celsius on Sunday. Earlier in 2019, India witnessed the record maximum temperature of 50 degrees celsius.
