Indian Railways to redevelop Tirupati and Nellore Railway Stations Soon

Indian Railways is planning to invest Rs 600 Crore for the remodeling and redevelopment of Railway Stations in Tirupati and Nellore in Andhra Pradesh. Rail Land Development Authority (RLDA) had already conducted online pre-bid meetings and floated a Request for Proposals (RFP) for the selection of entity for remodeling and redevelopment of Tirupati and Nellore Railway Stations. Top firms such as Godrej Properties, GMR, Ambience, Adani group, Oberoi, Brigade, Embassy Group, and Sobha participated in the meetings.

Tirupati and Nellore Stations will be redeveloped on a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model. They will follow Design, Build, Finance, Operate, Transfer (DBFOT) model and have operational areas like administrative areas, Security areas, Staff areas and miscellaneous technical areas. Indian Railways  are also planning to redevelop both the stations in coming three years by providing the state-of-the-art of world-class amenities for passengers such as Shopping, Food court,Cloak room, Hospitality, executive lounges, differently abled-friendly access ramps, Elevators and dormitories. They are even planning for green building activities such as rainwater harvesting and solar energy generation.

The Vice-Chairman of Rail Land Development Authority Mr Ved Prakash Dudeja said that Indian Railways had Successfully conducted online pre-bid meetings in the amidst of Covid-19 Lock down period for both Tirupati and Nellore Stations. Indian Railways are in line with Smart cities mission and they are commited to ensure seamless operations during this Caronavirus pandemic situation. They have already started online tenders also which is scheduled to opened by Mid June 2020.

The Total estimated cost of remodeling and redevelopment of  Nellore Station is Rs 130 Crore and Tirupati Station is Rs 530 Crore.  The Station development estimated that for Nellore station is Rs 53 Crore and Tirupati station is Rs 230 Crore respectively.
