The Malicious Apps were notified by security researcher Chris Dehganpoor and disclosed about the malicious files that these apps made unauthorized downloads to Android devices as these apps try to get root privileges that allowed them to survive factory results. They also copy numerous device files to the system partition which remains untouched even after the factory resetting the device.

Chris stated that the apps have positive reviews on play store with high favorable ratings and they have downloaded in good numbers. The best way to get rid of malware is to recheck the infected device and reflash the ROM supplied by manufacturer. The Malware authors use different techniques with different names to see how different apps behave in playstore while we are doing authorized downloads.
