Scholars have discovered the 6th century manuscript of Great Indian epic Ramayana

The 6th century manuscript of Ramayana has been found tucked inside a Purana at Sanskrit Library in Kolkata. It is markedly different from that of 4 BC Valmiki Ramayana. The Manual script more focuses on the separation of Rama and Sita and portrays them more as humans. The 12th century rendition by Tamil Poet Kamba is considered as the second oldest among the popular versions

6th Century Ramayana
Scholars at the Asiatic Society Library in Kolkata who were working on Vahni(Fire) Purana were puzzled to find the incomplete script and soon after after scouring the archives they found the complete version of the Script .They began to find the global repository of Sanskrit manuscripts and through the Catalogus Catalogorum which was compiled by German scholar Aufrecht. They found two identical manuscripts exist at India Office library,London and other a 100 year old research institution Kolkata-based Samskrita Sahitya Parishad.

The Lead scholar of Asiatic Society who is working on manuscript Anasuya Bhowmick said "In this version of script they found five kandas and there is no Balakanda or Uttarakanda. This Ramayana ends with the return of Rama and Sita from exile and his ascension to the Ayodhya throne and this Ramayana doesn't begin with the curse that drove Dasarath to send his son to exile."

Rather it begins with the curse that befell goddess Lakshmi when shukracharya got angry with Narayan for killing his wife. The other curse falls on both Narayan and Lakshmi when Dharitri can't bear the pain of the constant battle between gods and demons. In both cases Narayan and Lakshmi are told that will have to bear the pain of separation.

Another Scholar Manabendu Bandyopadhyay  said "Rama and Sita are more human than God with follies like anger and failure. He also narrated some interesting information about Rama and Sita like the ages at the time of marriage  and also the date when sita was abducted by Ravana in his verison"
