University of South Florida Offers Rs 1 Crore Scholarship in Dr APJ Abdul Kalam's name
University of South Florida offers Rs 1 Crore scholarship to Indian students in the name of Former President APJ Abdul kalam.This award is for all Indians who is seeking to pursue PhD in specific fields of science and engineering at the University of Florida from the next academic year.
University's System Associate Vice Provost Roger Brindley said "this award will be offered each academic year,effective from 2016-17.The Scholarship holders would be given a fee waiver for four years (amounting to $84,500 in four years) along with the stipend of $18,000 per year".

He also said that " Like all of India and the world we heard of his passing away with great sorrow.and i am expressing my deep condolences to his family. He also praised the wonderful work that the university is doing to perpetuate Kalam's legacy. " Former President Dr APJ Abdul Kalam was honoured visitor to University of South Florida in 2012 and addressed on green energy and sustainability along with eight space sharing nations and gave an aerospace vision 2050.
The Students and Faculty members had been thinking of honour of Kalam's extraordinary life who enlighten the people across the world with his marvelous talkings and decided to name a post graduate scholarship for Indian Students in USA . The Scientific Advisor Mr Ponraj who is also a closed aide is recollecting the association with Dr APJ Abdul Kalam with the USA and US National space society also announced Dr APJ Abdul Kalam's NSS Space Solar powered mission.
