Internet to bring generic top level domains for next generation .

Internet  body is receiving applications for new and generic domain names from January 12 th 2012 which will put an end to suffixes like .com and .gov soon by end of 2012. The domain name would be in any characters.

Next Generation Domain

This is the biggest change in internet and provided a platform for new creativity and inspiration for future generations. The Top domain program was approved by 13 votes to one with 2 absentees in a meeting at Singapore. The New names will elevate the new dimension and could infringe on social and religious sensitivities.

The People who have invested in .com domains will be diluted by new rules. And it would be more beneficiary and trademark for big companies to create with their brand and trademark name domain which gains more control over online presence and helps to attract visitors instantly.

ICANN hopes that the approval process will take months which involves governments and other agencies. The famous Japanese electronic giant said that it already started planning to use domain name ending with.canon.ICANN is going to take hundreds of consultants which will outsource the job of adjudicating claims
