Prime Minister Modi will Inaugurate "Celebrations of Chauri Chaura" on February 4th

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the " Celebrations of Chauri Chaura" in Uttar Pradesh via Video Conferencing on February 4th. February 4th Marks the beginning of the 100th year of Chauri Chaura landmark incident in the fight for Independence.

Modi will also release the postal stamp dedicated to Chauri Chaura centenary event. The Celebrations and various events planned by the UP State government will begin in the 75 districts of the state which will start on February 4 and will continue till February 4 2022.

A group of freedom fighters participating in the nation wide non cooperation movement using non violent methods headed by Mahatma Gandhi in the year 1922 in the Gorakhpur District of Uttar Pradesh was fired upon by police leading to death of several freedom fighters.In return protestors attacked Chauri Chaura Police station killing many of the occupants.It leads to death of several civil man and Policeman

The Colonial tried a large number of people with many of them executed and many more condemned to Life prison for the Chauri Chaura Incident. Later Mahatma Gandhi called off the movement due to high violence.
