Indian Wrestling Referee Ashok Kumar to officiate in Rio Olympics 2016

For the First time in the India Wrestling History that an International Referee Ashok Kumar from India has been selected for officiating in the Rio Olympic Games next year.A total of 50 referees have been qualified for Olympics which includes supervisors and instructors.

The United World of Wrestling(UWW) has picked nine referees from Asia out of which Ashok Kumar is one and only from India ,Currently serving as warrant officer from Indian Air force.He Participated in more than 50 International tournaments as Referee.The Rio Olympics 2016 begins on Friday August 5th 2016 and ends on Sunday August 21st 2016.Rio is the First South American city to host Summer Olympics .

The Selection of  Referees is purely based on the Performance during 2015 World Senior Wrestling Championship held at Las Vegas from September and subsequently the clinic conducted for Referees at Sochi,Russia from December 11-13.
