eBay launches local ecommerce website in Germany


eBay has launched a Local commerce website for the urban retail industry in Germany. This website features more than 2 Lakh Items sold by 50+Local shops in the city of Mönchengladbach. It facilitates users a real added value to shop online and collect items either in-store or have them delivered at their place.Very soon eBay is planning to extend it to the other top city centers.This project is a collaboration between eBay and mg.retail2020.

German eCommerce has a vast digital buyer penetration in the world.Germany is the Largest economy in the word and after Russia It is the most populous country in the world.Almost 85% of people have access to internet.It provides shoppers an option to click and collect or Free pickup with many retailers also offering shipping

It is expecting that the eCommerce market is about to grow 12 percent yearly through 2017.In Germany eCommerce Revenue will account for 53% of the total gross domestic Product and estimated a Major share of online retail market by 2017.
