TR Baalu to Replace Dayanidhi Maran in the Cabinet:Sources

Union Textile Minister Dayanidhi Maran Handed over his resignation to Prime Minister in his residence this afternoon.Maran is facing evidence in Telecom scam. Maran is eexpected to fly to chennai today evening.Karunanidhi has selected TR Baalu to replace him the union cabinet.

Prime Minister Manmohan singh held a high level meeting today with senior ministers and discussed all legal aspects of the Telecom case in view of the CBI's status report in the court yesterday.Prime Minister also met Congress President Smt Sonia Gandhi yesterday evening regarding this scam and updated her the current position that Maren's staying was untenable.

Mr Maran's political liability was expanded after the CBI said that they had preliminary evidence against him in the Telecom scam.Maran was a telecom Minister during the period 2004-2007 and Mr Raja has succeded him and now both of them are littered with financial malpractices.
