Tripura Legislative Assembly Polls : Large Voter Turnout recorded at over 87.63%

Tripura has a tentative record of more than 87.63% voter turnout in today's assembly elections poll .86.12 % of Male electors turned up, while 89.17% of female voters turned up and 67.74% of Transgender voters turned up to caste their vote . Across 3,328 polling stations including 1,100 sensitive and 28 marked critical amid high security. Long queues were witnessed at almost all polling booths. Bru migrant voters has also caste their vote after many years.

As according to Election commission over 28.14 Lakh electorates of which 14,15,233 are male voters and 13,99,289 are female voters and remaining 62 are of transgender are eligible to caste their vote 259 candidates are contesting in the assembly polls to the 60 member Assembly. The counting of votes will be held on March 2 

According to the latest figures, the reserved constituency of Manu ST has recorded a turnout of 92,09% the highest in any assembly constituency in the Tripura state. The lowest turnout of 79.94% was registered at Town Bardowali  assembly constituency.

There have been no reports of any major violence or attack on candidates or polling agents. There have been largely peaceful with no demand for re-poll as of now. Only minor incidents happened during the polling like a CPM leader and two poll agents were injured. 

The  battle is in between the BJP, IPFT, The CPI (M) -Congress Alliance and TIPRA Motha. BJP is contesting in 55 seats, The CPI(M) is contesting in 47 seats while Congress has candidates in 13 seats.TIPRA Motha is contesting in 42 seats .The Trinamool Congress is contesting in 28 seats.

Voting begins to elect India's 15th President election

Nearly 4,800 elected MP's and MLA's will vote today to elect 15th president of India. The polling will take place in parliament house and respective state legislative assemblies from 10 AM to 5 PM.Draupadi Murmu is the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) candidate and Yashwant Sinha is the UPA opposition contestant Candidate.

The results will  be announced on July 21 and the next president will take oath on July 25. The present president of  India Ram nath Kovind's tenure  comes to end on  July 24. NDA's Draupadi Murmu is having a clear edge over UPA's Yashwanth Sinha. She is likely to become the First Woman President from the tribal community.

The Vote share for NDA Candidate is expected to reach nearly 2/3 rd majority with the support of various regional parties in India. Out of 10,86,431 votes NDA has around 6.67 lakh votes.The presidential poles are conducted by the Election Commission of India.In this year presidential elections around 4,900 lawmakers including 776 parliamentarians will elect the 15th president of India.

The electoral college responsible for President's elections in India comprises of the elected members of Lok Sabha, Rajya Sabha, Legislative assemblies of the states and Union territories. Legislative Councils have no role to play in this elections.

There is Proportional voting system in presidential elections which means the value of every MP or MLA of a state is greater than 1.. This value varies from state to state with respect to population. The fixed vote value for parliamentarian is 708.
